Asian Refugees United CRE Program
Connect/Reflect/Enact
Connect/Reflect/Enact. This program is part of a multi-part project integrating body knowledge and art creation to hold space for deep reflection on wounds both suffered and inflicted through systemic oppression existing in Asian diasporas here in the US and the homeland. This program will create an individual and collective community healing ritual process together, reconnecting and relearning our ancestral land and cultures and learning how to be a good guest on the land that we are living on.
why we need this
Importance of practicing Healing/Decolonizing Body as Land through Ritual practice. Each individual’s unique creative style will interact with others to create a communal ceremonial performance, thereby growing it into a learning space for community and healing where one can respect each other’s culture and the wisdom of ancestors’ rituals. It is intended to develop into a community space where people can practice by connecting social, political, environmental, climate and land issues and stories through creative art process into rituals for healing justice.
